Privacy policy

Short version: the sizes and prices you type into our calculators stay in your browser, unless you share a link. We don't have accounts and we don't collect your name or address. Ads and analytics are the only parts that involve other companies, and they're described below.

Who runs this site

YardSums (yardsums.com) is run by Data Dingo (NIP 8942982912), a business registered in Poland. It is the controller of any personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, email hello@yardsums.com.

What stays on your device

• Prices you type into a calculator are saved in your browser's local storage so they're there next time. They are never sent to us.
• Your theme choice (light, dark or auto) is saved the same way.
• Sizes you enter are calculated in your browser. If you use the Share button, the sizes go into the link's web address. When someone opens that link, the address (with the sizes) reaches our host like any page request; we don't use it for anything else. Prices you type are never put in shared links.

You can clear all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not track you across sites. We also use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, which report how people find the site in search results; they don't add anything to our pages.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense to keep the calculators free.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's My Ad Center, or opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
• If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown, using Google's certified consent message. You can change your choice at any time with the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.

If you email us

We use your email address and message only to reply, and keep them only as long as needed for that. We never sell or share them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or state privacy laws in the US such as California's), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We hold almost no personal data ourselves; for ad cookies, use the choices above. For anything else, email us and we'll respond within 30 days. In the EU and UK you may also complain to a data protection authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Children

This site is for adults planning home projects and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
